An NFT (Non-Fungible Token) racing game named F1 Delta Time has just officially closed its doors and will be shutting down its operations. For those who do not know, F1 Delta Time is an NFT game based on Ethereum. The currency used in-game was the Ethereum-based token, REVV. This was one of the first games to offer a “play-to-earn” scheme to players. Additionally, this game was released in 2019, back when NFTs were not yet in the trend. Fast forward to March 2022, the officially licensed Formula 1 racing game is suddenly shutting down, leaving its players with absolutely worthless tokens and assets.
“It is with deep regret that we announce that F1 Delta Time will cease operations on 16 March 2022. While we have not been able to renew our license, we will ensure that current owners of F1 Delta Time assets are rewarded for their loyalty and support.” – Aminoca Brands, the game’s publisher, announced earlier Since F1 Delta Time drove its last run, it would be clear that the game’s NFTs are now practically worthless. To add insult to injury, Aminoca Brands will not be refunding anything. Although it might seem pretty devastating, players should still not lose hope. As informed by Aminoca Brands, they are still going to give their players some kind of compensation. They said that they will be replacing the “worthless” tokens with other tokens from one of the company’s blockchain-based racing games. That is not so bad after all!
